Thank you for choosing Bakes by Steph to provide your sweet treats for your celebration. Accepting a quote and making payment in full or of your deposit means you agree with our terms and conditions. Please see the terms of our agreement below.

Payment, cancellations and refunds

Quotes and pricing are subject to change and final pricing is to be confirmed and invoiced approximately two (2) months before your event. Any changes to your order once it has been invoiced will incur a $25 admin fee. A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking date. Deposits must be paid within seven (7) days. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any requests for changes to your order within fourteen (14) days of the event may incur a further fee. Full and final payment is due fourteen (14) days prior to the event date. If full payment is not received by this time, Bakes by Steph reserves the right to cancel your booking.

If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as you can. Any cancellations will see the forfeiture all monies paid to that point. If cancellation occurs within fourteen (14) days prior to the event, the full fee is non-refundable.

In the event you are unhappy with your cake please contact Bakes by Steph within 24 hours of pick up/delivery. The remaining cake/desserts needs to be returned by the customer to Bakes by Steph for assessment within 24 hours of pick up/delivery. After a full assessment, a decision will be made in regard to any replacement, partial or full refund. All replacements and refunds are at the discretion of the owner of Bakes by Steph and will be final.

Sickness, accident & Injury

In the unlikely event that Bakes by Steph is unable to fulfil your order for reasons including but not limited to, illness, accident or injury, Bakes by Steph reserves the right to cancel the order and will refund all monies paid by you relative to the order with no further compensation payable to you. We will endeavour to help find a suitable replacement company for your order, but this is only subject to their availability.

Order changes

Any changes of flavour or design theme are to be made at least fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled order date and may incur further charge. Any updates to your order must be submitted in writing. Date changes are subject to availability. We endeavour to fulfil orders exactly to your specifications; however factors may be out of our control that may result in design changes (eg. supplier unavailability).  All product designs are subject to artistic license.

Design

Bakes by Steph is so happy to be considered as your baker of choice and we hope your love our style. Due to the design nature we do not copy or replicate images you may provide but may use them as inspiration only. Please consider booking a custom cake as similar to commissioning an artwork, there is an element of trust for your cake designer. If we don't fit your desired aesthetic or style we may recommend someone else who may be able to help you instead. 

Initial consultation will provide us with an idea/theme for your cake, however all cakes are in the style of Bakes by Steph and full final design is at our discretion. The decorator reserves the right to make aesthetic changes to the design during the decorating process, to produce the best product for our customers. Please note that any specific colour/decoration requests can be made but they may appear different on the final product. 

Allergies and safety

You, the client, assumes all responsibility for informing guests that the cakes – unless dietary requirements were specified at the time of booking – may contain traces of eggs, soy, dairy, wheat or other allergens. Bakes by Steph will work within your restrictions where possible; however, it must be noted that the kitchen processes these known allergens and cross-contamination may occur. Bakes by Steph takes no responsibility for personal injury to the client or guests occurring due to consumption of our cakes or other products. We are not working from an allergy free kitchen.

Whilst all efforts are taken to ensure florals are free of contamination, please remember that they are NOT a foodstuff and are not to be consumed. Any other inedible decorations will be identified upon pick up or delivery.

Delivery, set up and handover

Bakes by Steph would be pleased to deliver and set-up your cake at your celebration. This service ensures your cake is safe during transport and secure at your venue. Delivery fee is from $15 and is based on distance travelled and the required time of delivery. A delivery timeframe will be given within three (3) days of the event. We are happy to arrange florals/toppers from your event florist; however, this does need to be arranged prior to the event and flowers must be available the day before.

Orders must be picked up at the agreed upon time as we operate on a strict schedule and often have other pick ups or deliveries scheduled. Failure to arrive within 15 minutes of the allocated appointment may lead to nobody being at the kitchen for pick up as we are an appointment only business.

We will not take responsibility for the security of your cake, including the impact of temperature, after we have left your venue. Please remember that cakes are delicate items and need to be placed in an area that will not encounter rowdy guests or high weather events (including rain, direct sunlight, or wind). 

High temperatures can adversely affect your cake. Please keep the ambient temperature around 20-23 degrees celsius. If it is a particularly warm day, your cake would do better inside in the air-conditioning.  Buttercream cakes should be kept in the refrigerator and removed a few hours prior to serving so that they may return to room temperature for best enjoyment. 

If you elect to collect the cake from our kitchen in Echuca Moama, you assume all liability and responsibility once off our premises. Bakes by Steph cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake or products once they are delivered and in the care of a client or the venue.

Where a client elects to self-transport we are not responsible for any damage that may be caused during transportation. Cakes travel best in the empty footwell of your passenger seat or the flat boot (a clean level, flat space), with the air-conditioning on high. We take care to ensure our products are sturdy enough to travel, however we cannot accept responsibility for any damages after your product has left our premises.

Photos and social media

Bakes by Steph reserves the right to use any photographs or videos of your cake for promotional purposes without specific permission or compensation to you. If you wish for your cake to not be shown on social media, please indicate this at time of booking. No footage of your children or guests will be used without express written permission.

Complaints and compliments

The team at Bakes by Steph want you and your guests to be 100% satisfied. If you are unhappy with your cake in any way, please let us know via email to steph@bakesbysteph.com.au, within 24 hours of your event date. Any feedback allows us to improve our service provisions and procedures to ensure our customers are receiving the very best product, each and every time.

Refunds will not be honoured if you are dissatisfied with the design, colour shade or general decoration of your product. If you are unsatisfied with the flavour quality of your product and request a refund the product in question must be returned for assessment within 24 hours and any refund will be at our discretion. We are unable to issue a refund for a cake or other item that has been consumed.

Errors, inaccuracies and omissions

Occasionally there may be information on our site or in the service that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, offers, delivery charges, transit times and availability. We reserve the right to correct any of these errors, or to change and update information, or cancel orders if any information is inaccurate at any time without prior notice.

Online security

Bakes by Steph does not take any responsibility for any conditions in relation to this website that may produce viruses or cause any hardware or software damage. You assume the risk of use of this site and release Bakes by Steph of any consequences. Payment details are captured online using 128 bit encrypted Secure Socket Layer technology, which encrypts all information to make it secure. The website host, Shopify is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. 

Agreement of Terms and Conditions

Payment of your deposit is considered that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions. For future orders these terms and conditions may be different so we recommend you read these terms carefully each time you agree to them during the ordering process. Terms and conditions are subject to change at any time. We will not change any terms and conditions for an existing order, the terms and conditions will apply as at the time of ordering.
